Species description: Almost glabrous perennial up to 100 cm, woody at base. Leaves 2-serate, usually ciliolate, all but the uppermost petiolate. Inflorescence a rather lax corymb. Corolla blue, rarely white; tube 4-6 mm, very slender, much longer than the lobes. Capsule broadly pyriform.

Ssp caeruleum : Leaves ovate to broadly lanceolate, with acute, ciliolate teeth; petioles not winged. Throughout the rang of the species.

Ssp lanceolatum: Leaves narrowly lanceolate, with obtuse, not ciliolate teeth; petioles winged. Sccilia.

Field Notes:

Habitat: Damp and shady places.

Distribution: W.mediyerranian region and Potugal; often cultivated for ornament and locally naturalized elsewhere. Hs It Lu Si [Az Ga]

Found: S.Spain, Sierrania de Ronda.
